Riyadh, August 1, 2024: Manga Productions, a subsidiary of Mohammed bin Salman Foundation “Misk”, unveiled the teaser for the second season of the Saudi anime series “Future’s Folktales”. The second season is set to take place in the industrial city of NEOM, specifically in the “Oxagon” region, the world’s largest floating industrial hub. The series’ narratives explore legends from the various areas of the Arab world, showcasing a unique array of diverse environments and attire within the Kingdom. The series, consisting of 13 episodes, is scheduled to be released in Japan, the Middle East, and North Africa in the fourth quarter of this year.
Maha and her family embark on a new life, characters face daily challenges in a world that blends fantasy with reality in “Oxagon”, drawing wisdom and inspiration from “Grandmother Asma”, who narrates folk tales offering innovative solutions to their problems. This season provides an opportunity to explore cultures and traditions from diverse Arabian regions, highlighting the cultural richness of Saudi Arabia and the Arab world. It is planned that the voice acting for the episodes of the second season will feature some of the brightest stars of voice acting and dubbing from both the Arab and Japanese worlds.

It is worth noting that in 2020, Manga Productions signed a partnership with NEOM, where the events of the second season will unfold in the “Oxagon” area. The Arabic and Japanese posters for the second season were launched at the Anime Japan event in Tokyo in March of this year. “Future’s Folktales” was produced in collaboration with the renowned Japanese studio “Toei Animation”, known for producing distinguished works such as “One Piece” and “Dragon Ball”. The first season received positive acclaim, surpassing 100 million views globally, presented on more than 43 global platforms.
